World Poem 6

A creative experiment in which I (quickly) write a poem using my Wordle words from that day.

Shelter Dogs

You love to share

photos of the shelter dogs

no one wants to shelter

bully breeds and black mutts, mostly

the ones not mangy enough to move us,

not strange or storied enough to

summon the good Samaritans among us

you love to share photos of the empty-eyed

boys and girls who’ve given up

Hope and Stella,

Max and Hank

So lonesome

I could almost cry.
